How are you supporting positive relationships by listening deeply?

When we listen deeply, we listen with your entire bodies, including our ears, eyes, heart and brain.

The primary goal of listening deeply is to understand what the other person is saying and meaning - and we focus on that before we turn our efforts to being understood ourselves.

Notice, next time you have dinner with your family or friends, if you are so busy formulating your responses to others or looking for space to jump into the conversation that you are short-changing your ability to really hear what someone else is saying.

What are you missing? And why does it matter?

Really hearing what someone is saying, at a deep level, is critical for building positive relationships, whether it is with your child, your partner, your employee, your boss, or your friends. When people feel heard, they also feel seen. And when people feel seen, they thrive.
